I'm going to crack this spinning lark if it kills me!

That sounds like I'm not enjoying it - I am, especially when it clicks into place and goes smoothly - those rare instances are becoming more frequent, which must surely be a good sign?

Another effort - take some merino acquired from Wingham Wool:

And turn it into this:

Still not perfect - practice, practice, practice!

Squee! Club yarn all dyed up and likely to be posted early next week. If you're in the club look out for your parcel towards the end of next week...

looks like you're doing fine. I found that after some practice it suddenly 'clicks' and from then on its plan sailing. I'm loving the color of your fibre.

It looks great! You're doing really well.

Thanks for the link to the French translation knitting blog by the way. It's very useful!

It's just practice practice practice...I used to spin at least 100g a week when I first started...50g on one bobbin and 50g on another and then ply them together....nothing much changes, except I spin at a rate of 100g a month these days simply because I don't have the time!
Looks like you are doing fine!

Just relax and enjoy your spinning - and embrace the lumps and bumps, they're what make your yarn handspun. Try playing with it and making it REALLY thick and REALLY thin. If you want supersmooth and even, you can buy it!
Hope you're feeling better.
